Dear SSF-US Colleagues:

We are pleased to introduce the new Council of Sociologists Without Borders-US(SSF-US).

Dr. Davita Silfen Glasberg, Professor of Sociology and CLAS Associate Dean of Social Sciences, University of Connecticut, has agreed to complete Dr. Judith Blau's term as President. At the SSF General Meeting, to be held at the ASA 2012, she will transition into the role of "Past President" for a term of two years. (http://sociology.uconn.edu/faculty/glasberg.html)

Dr. Mark Frezzo, Assistant Professor of Sociology, University of Mississippi, has agreed to complete Dr. Keri Iyall Smith's term as Vice President. At the SSF General Meeting to be held at the ASA 2012, he will transition into the role of "Past Vice President" for a term of two years. Dr. David Brunsma, Professor of Sociology at Virginia Tech, has agreed to serve as Treasurer until the SSF General Meeting to be held at the ASA 2013. (http://www.sociology.vt.edu/people/Brunsma.html)

Dr. Egla Martinez-Salazar, Assistant Professor, Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies, Carleton University, has agreed to serve as Secretary until the SSF General Meeting to be held at the ASA 2013.

April Stapp, graduate student at Portland State University, has agreed to serve as Graduate Student Representative until the SSF General Meeting to be held at the ASA 2013.

Sophia Teie, undergraduate student at Virginia Tech, has agreed to serve as Undergraduate Student Representative until the SSF General Meeting to be held at the ASA 2012.

In the weeks leading up to the General Meeting to be held at the ASA 2012, SSF-US will hold an election for the positions of President and Vice President. All members in good standing will be eligible to run for these positions.

The SSF listserv, website (http://www.sociologistswithoutborders.org/), and Think Tank (http://www.ssfthinktank.org/) will remain operational.
